Canada's Favourite Pick-up

The RAM 1500 is part of a total new rebrand from parent company Chrysler. The RAM name may be unfamiliar as a stand-alone brand but it’s a line of pickup trucks which have been sold under the Dodge name for many years. After performing so well and becoming one of Canada’s favourite pick-up trucks, Chrysler decided to dedicate a whole new arm of its operation to RAM alone.

RAM offers a series of three full-sized pickup trucks with the 1500 coming in as the smallest of the three. Nevertheless, the 1500 is still a strong and tough model with a frame made from 98% high-strength steel and a maximum payload of 1045kg. If it’s towing ability that’s important, the 1500 can pull 5,773kg without a problem.

There are 11 different trim levels with the option of both two and four-wheel drive. The 8-speed automatic transmission comes with the choice of a 3.0 litre V6 EcoDiesel, a VVT V6 3.6 litre or VVT V8 5.7 litre for even more power.

A Pickup that You’ll Love

All of the function and performance in the 1500 is parcelled up in a pickup which looks beautiful on the outside too. A gleaming exterior offers a number of design features that elevate the RAM from other trucks in the market.

Quad halogen headlamps, heated mirrors, cargo lamp and all-season tires come fitted on all models with extras such as fender flares, chrome accessories, chrome sidesteps, LED tail lamps and grille available on higher trim levels.

The interior of the RAM 1500 has generous features even on the entry-level ST model but increases further through the higher trims. The choice of cab sizes provides the option to configure the seating for either passengers or cargo with seating that folds flat when needed.

Cruise control, heated seating, in-floor storage (in the crew cab) and an electronic vehicle information centre are standard on all models. Higher trims include more features such as a heated steering wheel, USB ports, power rear sliding window, LED interior lighting, satellite radio and wooden accents in the cabin.

A Workhorse You Can Trust

With a truck that’s built for power, safety is a priority but the good news is that the RAM 1500 has plenty of features designed to assist and protect.

Daytime running lamps, antilock brakes, tire pressure monitoring system, panic alarm, remote keyless entry and an electronic park brake are fitted to all models across the range. Driver aids which are included as standard include hill start assist, electronic stability control, all-speed traction control, trailer sway control, rain brake support and electronic roll mitigation. Cornering fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, a backup camera, security alarm and remote start are all available on higher trims.

7 airbags and active head restraints to reduce the incidence of whiplash are all fitted in every RAM 1500 model.
