The Focus is a mid-sized car from Ford and is available in both a hatchback and sedan style. Popular with those who love a hot hatch but want just a little more room, the Ford Focus has gone through a number of redesigns but has always retained its fundamental features.

There's a range of trims on offer, from the entry-level S model, moving up through the SE, SEL, Titanium, ST, and RS. A four-cylinder 2.0 litre and a turbocharged three cylinder 1.0 litre are the two engine options but there's also an electric Focus too which offers around 2 L/100 km in the city and 2.5L/100 km on the highway.

On some models a manual transmission is available but for greater convenience, there's a six-speed automatic transmission across the range. The electric has a one-speed electric transmission.

A Comfortable Drive

Larger than a small hatchback, the Ford Focus isn't the roomiest of vehicles on the inside and it's not blessed with a huge amount of cargo space either. The hatchback models offer more of the latter but if size is a priority, this probably isn't the perfect car for you.

However, if a medium-sized vehicle with plenty of creature comforts is your aim, then the Ford Focus delivers in style.

The features included in the interior increase as you move up through the trim levels, such as dual-zone climate control, a power moonroof, push-button ignition and heated steering wheel. However, there are many extras included as standard even on the entry-level model such as cruise control, smart charging USB ports and SYNC, the voice recognition communication and entertainment system.

Safety and Style

The good looks of the Ford Focus doesn't mean that safety and security takes second place and there's plenty of driver aids to provide reassurance.

Behind the wheel, power steering, a regenerative braking system, and ABS are all available plus Torque Vectoring Control and AdvanceTrac, the vehicle stability system from Ford.

Seven airbags are included, plus three-point safety belts in every position.

There are security features too with remote keyless entry, a perimeter alarm, and a passive anti-theft system. If you've driven a Ford before, many of these features will be familiar as they're included across the various models.
