Ford F150

Find out more about the Ford F-150 which offers the comfort of an SUV with the power and strength of a traditional pickup. With a large cargo area and seating for up to 6, there's plenty of different options for this truck.

A Much Loved Truck Classic: The Ford F-150

The Ford F-150 is one of the most revered of all the modern day trucks thanks to its unrelenting work capacity and reliability on the road.

Often considered as the one to beat when choosing a truck, there's the choice of seven different models ranging from the entry-level trim of the XL and moving up through the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited and Raptor.

There's a range of engines to choose from, depending on the fuel economy and power you're looking for. These include the V6 3.3 litre, V6 twin turbo 2.7 litre, V6 twin turbo 3.5 litre and the meaty V8 5.0 litre. The base V6 model comes with a six-speed automatic transmission while the rest are fitted with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel economy varies depending on the model chosen, but as a guide, the midrange Lariat achieves 11.9 L/ 100 km in the city and 9.00 L/100 km on the highway.

The F-150 offers great cargo space but there's a wide variance in passenger capacity starting at seating for 3 in the XL and increasing up to seating for 6 in the Raptor.

Surprisingly Luxurious

As a vehicle chosen for its working capacity rather than luxurious interior, drivers might be surprised to discover the expansive range of features either fitted or available as an extra.

Climate control, ambient lighting, power points, voice-activated navigation plus the SYNC entertainment system all provide comfort and convenience.

For the driver, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, pedestrian detection, leather-wrapped steering wheel, parking sensors and Blind Spot Information System all make sitting behind the wheel a real delight.

Secure Road Driving

The design of the Ford F150 is tough and designed to be a workhorse with a robust fully boxed steel frame underpinning everything. The additional four-wheel drive can be chosen and there's Trailer Sway Control as standard. Advanced models include Hill Descent Control plus a selection of six different drive modes.

There are front, driver and side airbags, ABS four-wheel disc brakes and Tire Monitoring Pressure System to make maintenance convenient.

A perimeter alarm is optional for the lower trims but standard on some of the others, plus all models are fitted with the Ford Passive Anti-Theft System. Remote keyless entry, SecuriCode keypad, and remote starting are all available in addition to a huge range of security features providing reassurance. Despite being one of the best-known trucks on the road, the Ford F-150 provides comfort and luxury. A great range of trims makes this vehicle accessible for all budgets without having to compromise on quality.
